Rough sleeping has increased nationally by 165% since 2010. The day centre in Bedford is open every day of the year, supporting those who sleep rough, are vulnerably housed and often face issues around social isolation or exclusion. It is funded entirely on charitable donations, grants and with the support of the local community; it is a place of safety, meeting the basic needs of service users; providing food, warmth, water, and a place to get clean as well as rest.
