St. John's Hospice

The Sue Ryder Foundation has been in Moggerhanger, just outside Bedford, since 1977 and the building is now a hospice serving the Bedfordshire area. They provide expert care for life limiting conditions and everything from pain and symptom management to emotional and practical help. Whether dealing with a terminal illness or the loss of a loved one, they are able to help. Services include inpatient care, virtual day services, Lymphoedema Clinic, community services, St John’s Palliative Care Hub, family and bereavement support along with spiritual care. Last year Sue Ryder provided 105,000 hours of support to patients and their families across Bedfordshire. Their expert care is free, but it costs £3.7m per year to provide it, which equates to £10,000 per day.
